Super Moon - March 19, 2011

After just posting the Sunrise Sunset photos, I came across several amazing photos taken from around the world of the Super Moon that appeared last month.
The moon made it closest approach to Earth in 18 years.

I woke around 3:00 a.m. to view the moon (too late for the best view)
but found it to be almost as bright as the daytime.

Saturday's Super Moon was just 221,566 miles (356,577 kilometers)
away from Earth—making the Super Moon about 20 percent brighter and 15 percent bigger than a regular full moon, said Anthony Cook, astronomical observer for the
Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles.
Enjoy.
